What is a Category?

Categories structure the forecast submission process in MaxIQ. Each rep assigns deals to a category based on confidence level. The category tells managers at a glance how the rep views the deal and how it should be counted in the team forecast.

Common categories include Commit, Best Case, and Most Likely. Admins configure which categories are active and how they map to pipeline stages in the forecasting configuration.

Why It Matters

Without categories, every deal looks the same regardless of the rep's confidence. Categories give managers the signal they need to push back on optimistic forecasts or identify where to apply coaching before the quarter closes.
