What is the Waterfall View?
Waterfall is a system-defined analytics view in MaxIQ that displays pipeline distribution across stages using a bar chart. Each stage shows the total opportunity value contributing to it. It is one of the most useful tools for pipeline inspection and forecasting discussions because it shows exactly where pipeline is concentrated.
How to Access
- From the Sidebar, select Analytics
- Expand System Defined analytics
- Select Waterfall from the list
Key Controls
- Timeframe dropdown: select the financial period to analyse
- Configuration dropdown: define which forecast categories are displayed
- Level Hierarchy dropdown: filter by role or territory
- Period dropdown: select a time interval or custom date range
- Filter button: narrow results by owner, stage, or other attributes
Selections in the Waterfall view are persisted and restored automatically when you return to the page.
Why It Matters
Waterfall helps teams quickly spot whether pipeline health is balanced across stages or concentrated in one area. Deals clustering in early stages with little value in late stages is an early signal of a coverage gap, not just a pipeline volume problem.
